Sagres, Portugal - Europe
Sagres is a small fishing town on the South Western tip of Portugal, in the beautiful Algarve region. It has the benefit of being just a short drive from the major airports but it does not have the same volume of tourists that have taken over many of the other Algarvian beaches. It still has a thriving fishing community and it used to be a main port for the Portuguese sailors heading off on their worldly discoveries. As a result, the town is full of old legends and historic monuments add a good amount of old maritime culture.
