Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands and has long been a world renowned location for kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing. Dubbed as the Atlantic's
‘Maui', Fuerteventura picks up some of the world’s best swell with consistent trade winds for most of the year.
Sotavento is located in the south of the island about 1.5 hrs drive from the airport. Sotavento’s geography is unique and provides an excellent environment and conditions for kitesurfing. The beach is a huge expanse of bright white sand overlooked by an impressive mountain range.

For kitesurfing there is a huge lagoon that fills from the half tide mark, making it an excellent spot to learn. The beach is monitored by safety boats and life guards so if you get blown away from the beach someone is always on hand to come to your rescue. |
