Santa Teresa was first discovered by surfers as recently as the late 1990s, and as a result has a new and young surfing community on its shores. The area has been developed in a way that is harmonious with it’s surroundings; you have all the creature comforts that you need but they are set in amongst the jungle and palm trees. They have been so careful with developing the area that when you are sitting in the oceans line up, and look back to land you can only see palm trees, there is still not a building to be seen. In this sense it is truly unique. It really is an idyllic tropical scenery, with incredible national park wildlife and a handful mellow beach breaks, or fast reef breaks.
