Samoa - South Pacific
The Island of Samoa lies north east of Fiji and is a surfing destination offering warm water, a tropical island paradise, and most importantly consistent quality waves. It is a destination that is 'on' all round and catches swell from pretty much every direction. Sounds good so far!
The most consistent swells come from way down in the southern ocean and intensify before exploding on Upolu Island's south shore. There are a handful of magical surf spots waiting for these swells to hit - A'ufaga Village, Salani and Boulders are all waves to watch out for.
It's location in the South Pacific ensures that there is plenty of swell all year round but the best time is generally considered to be the months of April through October when waves are created by the big lows down near Antarctica. February is the wet season but glassy conditions are almost guaranteed at this time of year. Oh, and its boardshorts weather all year around!
